Summary
This position is located at the Marina, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida. This activity is maintained and operated as a service for all active duty, reservists, retires military, their dependents and DOD employees of NAS Jacksonville.

Duties
The successful candidate will:
  • Issue rental equipment and ensure that the equipment is issued in proper condition and that the patron is properly briefed in its usage, return time and geographical limitations.
  • Prepare receipt for rental equipment and note any damage or missing parts to the patron and supervisor.
  • Direct boats launching, loading onto trailers, traffic near pier, etc.
  • Perform or assist in performing preventive maintenance and minor repair to facility and equipment. Includes boats, piers and associated equipment.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties such as policing grounds, trimming weeds, and sweeping; may mop floors, clean bathroom, empty trash receptacles and cut grass as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Conditions of Employment
  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
  • May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of 32212.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in or around the water, with long period of standing, walking, bending or stooping.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds or less.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate possesses the following:
- Ability to safely and prudently operate an outboard motorboat.
- Ability to check out rental equipment and account for returned equipment by check out sheets.
- Ability to deal with varying levels of military personnel as well as civilian patrons.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

KEY REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Education
This position does not have a positive education requirement, however, High School/GED diploma is preferred.

    WHAT ARE PREFERENCES?
