The Records Specialist II position is a data entry role responsible for managing the flow of paper and electronic documents and supports the LCL-CID Claims Department within American National. Claims personnel depend on this position for the quick, accurate entry and routing of all claim documents. Responsibilities:
• Set up claims and verify coverages
• Perform various other duties such as processing mail, indexing and coding documents, preparing files, and scanning and imaging.
• Responsible for providing effective customer service in response to inquiries, concerns, and verification about the receipt of documentation and claim packages.
• Provide information to the correct department or organization based on evaluation of the information obtained.

Responsibilities:
• Set up claims and verify coverages
• Perform various other duties such as processing mail, indexing and coding documents, preparing files, and scanning and imaging.
• Responsible for providing effective customer service in response to inquiries, concerns, and verification about the receipt of documentation and claim packages.
• Provide information to the correct department or organization based on evaluation of the information obtained.
The most qualified candidate will possess the following:
- Previous office and/or data entry experience
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Strong cognitive skills, with talent to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and learn/retain information quickly
- Aptitude to navigate various computer programs simultaneously (Microsoft Office applications and internal systems)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Abide by HIPAA guidelines while ensuring the confidentiality of PHI
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Must be self-motivated with the desire to meet and exceed performance goals
- Knowledge of medical terminology beneficial
- Prior insurance knowledge a plus
