SALARY RANGE: $15-$22/hour

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Recording Studio Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and actively coordinating all Recording Studio activities within the Boys & Girls Club. Serving as a mentor and positive role model for Club members ages 5 to 18, the Coordinator will engage youth in Recording Studio experiences while providing guidance and support to promote creative expression and skill development in the field of audio engineering and music production.

KEY ROLES & ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare Youth for Success

Lead the implementation of Recording Studio activities aimed at promoting and enhancing the technical skills, creativity, and artistic expression of Club members aged 10-18.

Serve as a positive role model in the Recording Studio, demonstrating a high level of expertise, professionalism, and passion for music production and audio engineering.

Health and Safety

Ensure a safe and conducive studioenvironment, actively supervising members in all Recording Studio activities.

Manage studio areas and equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed and maintaining a productive studio environment.

Grant Implementation

Ensure the successful delivery of any grant-funded Studio Programs, aligning with Boys & Girls Clubs of America priorities and directives from supervisors.

Program Operations

Foster positive relationships with Club staff, volunteers, and members, creating a supportive and inclusive studio environment.

Plan and organize weekly studio activities, overseeing equipment and resources for effective studio management.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Understand and complete necessary paperwork related to studio activities, such as equipment inventories, session plans, and attendance records.

Adhere to designated clock-in and clock-out procedures.

Take attendance for studio sessions as instructed.

Assume other studio-related duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintain close communication with Club staff, members, and supervisors to exchange information, discuss studio-related issues, interpret guidelines/instructions, and provide guidance and support.

External: Represent Boys & Girls Club as a studio ambassador in the community, fostering connections with local artists, organizations, and stakeholders.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

College credit hours towards a degree in Music Production, Audio Engineering, or related field preferred, and/or equivalent studio experience.

Minimum of two years of studio experience, including working with youth and supervising volunteers preferred.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate above-average personal initiative.

Patience and a strong desire to impart studio knowledge and skills to individuals from diverse backgrounds in an unbiased manner.

Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.

Demonstrated tact, insight, and leadership skills in the studio context.

Effective listening skills and the ability to calmly handle crisis situations.

Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior challenges in a studio setting.

Successful collaboration with culturally diverse staff and club members.

Respect for members and their creative endeavors.

Possess or be willing to obtain a Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certification.

Possess or be willing to obtain a Class E Drivers License.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $15.00 - $22.00/hour.
