Department: Youth Development Reports to Youth Development Specialist
Supervises: 7+
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: $45,000
Summary: The person selected for this position will be responsible for the Life Skills & Awareness Program, Summer School and After School, and Hot Summer Night Programs.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Life Skills & Awareness program: Facilitator
  • Coordinate Life Skills sessions at Guadalupe Centers Middle School, Our Lady of Hope School, Guadalupe Centers High School, and other potential schools
  • Implement Life Skills at above mentioned schools during the calendar school year
  • Implement service learning projects with middle school students
  • Plan guest speakers for life skills sessions
  • Attend training for up-to-date information
After-School Program: Coordinator
  • Management of the site coordination team, which includes supporting the implementation of the daily curriculum, developing schedules, monitoring performance, and providing direction, input, and feedback.
  • Coordination and supervision of daily setup and breakdown of program activities and equipment.
  • Assess community participation to develop plans to increase and/or maintain participation
  • Administrative activities include management & reconciliation of weekly site budget, daily management and weekly submission of participant program fees, sourcing & weekly inventory of program supplies, tracking of program activities, & submission of nightly/weekly reports, supply requests, and employee timecard approval; other duties as assigned.
  • Attend, and participate fully in all program meetings, training, and planning sessions.
Summer School Program: Assistant Site Coordinator
  • Ensure the implementation of the daily curriculum, developing schedules, monitoring performance, and providing direction, input, and feedback.
  • Ensure program activities operate within set policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in all program meetings, training, and planning sessions.
  • Manage/assist workgroup meetings involving internal and external program partners.
  • Administrative activities include sourcing & weekly inventory of program supplies, tracking of program activities, submission of nightly/weekly reports, supply requests, daily participant attendance, and answering participant/parent questions/concerns via phone, email, and in person.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with staff and families.
  • Assist with cleanliness and upkeep of the building. e.g. supplies, taking out the trash, and completing a daily walkthrough.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Hot Summer Nights: Life Skills Instructor
  • On staff during Hot Summer Nights events
  • Coordinate different life skills activities for those events
  • Implement life skill activities during those events
General Responsibilities:
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to interact effectively with all aspects of the school community is required.
  • Ability to solve conflicts, maintain confidentiality, and remain open to various ideas and viewpoints.
  • Demonstrate organizational ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to assist the school community as necessary.
  • Ability to participate in outside activities required

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in family, youth, or community-based program implementation, OR a minimum of 2 years of professional experience working with families, youth, community organizing, or program development, prior experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred
  • A minimum of one year of experience in leadership and community engagement programs is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
  • Excellent human relations skills
Work Environment
This job operates in a school and professional environment. This role continually uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Guadalupe Centers serves a diverse population, including children, adolescents, and adults, who may have mental or behavioral health problems. Consequently, all GC staff must demonstrate appropriate daily behavior, appropriate expression of emotions, and appropriate role modeling. The employee must sometimes push items of 45 lbs. such as pushing children on a bike or moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, and work output. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
