Streetcar Program Coordinator (Analyst)

Full-time position available with the Public Works Department, Multimodal Division located at 414 East 12th Street
Salary Range: $4,619-$6,928/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

• Assists in the preparation and publication of the monthly and annual National Transit Database (NTD) Safety / Security and Operational Reports.
• Assembles and initially interprets economic and social research data as these data apply to the completion of transportation, urban redevelopment, economic base, and general land use planning programs.
• Performs audits and prepares manuals and other formal statements of improved procedures, methods and systems of operations; assists with the installation of improved procedures, methods and systems.
• Supports the development and edits of federally required plans, such as Asset Management, Agency Safety Plan, etc.
• Coordinates program, including assessment and evaluation of the program or project, completing reports and data management.
• Recommends and assists in the implementation of goals and objectives.
• Implements approved policies and procedures
• Assists in planning research records, projects and developing research methods and procedures as well as maintaining appropriate records, files, and exhibits.
• Provides verbal and written information to contractors, design professionals, and the public relative to city ordinances, Track Access Training and Permits, and processes for various permit matters.
• Consults with internal clients to ascertain and define need or problem area.
• Prepares and/or presents informational material for monthly, special and annual reports.
• Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRES an accredited Master’s degree in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, organizational psychology/development, project management, or geography; OR an accredited Bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional experience in public or business administration, corporate/municipal finance, research, accounting, planning, project/program management or geographical information system analytics. Preference given for a Transit Safety and Security Program (TSSP) certification and Public Transportation Safety Certification Training Program (PTSCTP) certification.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.

Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
