Job Summary:
The receptionist will report directly to Manager, Volunteer and will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service to Hope Media Group staff, Board, listeners, and guests. Hope Media Group the home of KSBJ, WayFM, Vida Unida and NGEN radio. This position resides in Houston, TX
- This position is 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday*
Essential Functions:
Customer Service
- Answer and route all incoming calls to the switchboard in a timely, businesslike manner
- Greet all guests and contact staff members
- Assist Marketing Department by:
- Address & mail out KSBJ bumper stickers to listeners
- Assist Hope Events by providing customer service for ticket sales when Hope Events representative is not available
- Assist Donor Relations with address changes and sorting mail outs
- Communicate information regarding Concerts / Brown Bags
- Receive incoming faxes and distribute to appropriate staff
- Receive incoming and outgoing mail
- Keep a log of incoming packages and notify appropriate staff member
- Respond to emails and forward to appropriate staff
- Keep current on KSBJ community events
- Open & Closing for first floor Building A
Prayer
- Be willing to pray with callers when a prayer volunteer is not available
- Fill out the online Prayer Request Form before end each shift
- Maintains a non-denominational approach when praying for listeners who call in (use for prayer dept)
Administrative Support
- Assist staff with clerical duties
Demonstrated Faith
- Pray for coworkers in team meetings
- Participate in on-air fundraisers and pray for donors over the phone as needed
- Participate in ministry wide Christian bible studies
- Attend weekly Staff Gatherings for prayer and devotions
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
- Maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside the organization.
Non-Essential Functions

Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- 1 year experience in customer service
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Creative and enthusiastic, team player
- Customer service experience
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Ability to learn new software/systems as needed
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible and able to work rotating schedule (29 hours per week)
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritually grounded and working knowledge of scriptures.
- Possesses a genuine concern for all people, and capacity to relate with all people in a sensitive, respectful way
- Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church
- Must have studied and applied the Christian faith through a minimum of 3 years of bible study
- Ability to offer Christian prayer in group settings
- Exhibit a life and service that is in full accord with Holy Bible and KSBJ
- A love and appreciation for our style of Christian radio ministry
