Auto Shop Customer Service Rep / Receptionist / Front Desk Clerk

American Alignment is a family owned & operated automotive repair shop serving Chesapeake and the surrounding cities. Providing full service vehicle repair & maintenance for all makes and models. We specialize in providing honest, reliable service to our local community.

Requirements:

• General understanding of most passenger vehicles and their parts
• 1 year of customer service, receptionist, service writing or related experience
• Excellent communication, customer service, phone and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Helpful, friendly attitude and demeanor
• Driven, strong willed personality that can work independently
• Strong computer (windows, etc.) and internet skills (such as Gmail)

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with both customers and auto repair techs in person, over the phone and via email to schedule appointments using both paper and our auto management system (Tekmetric)
• Record notes and prep all documentation for auto techs
• Call clients with estimates, as recommended by techs, and coordinate required repair time with client and auto techs schedule
• Keep the shop schedule and techs rolling based on appointment times and client needs
• Order auto parts online and via phone, return unused/unneeded parts
• Keep clients up to date on vehicle status
• Prep invoices, warranty info and checkout clients at completion
• Maintain and clean front lobby and one employee bathroom regularly
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with our clients, vendors, and employees
• Update social media upon request
• Physical demands include standing for long periods, bending and stooping frequently and the ability to carry at least 25 lbs. with or without accommodations
• Overall, set the mood and maintain pace for clients and technicians - the CSR is the heart and face of our shop!

Preferred Experience:

• Experience ordering auto parts both online and over the phone
• Vehicle parts knowledge
• Some automotive experience is ideal
• Working with Tekmetric, Snap On Alignment Machines and Zeus diagnostic equipment

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 – 34 per week
