- Works closely with the Detention Coordinator and the Outreach Coordinator to ensure that proper student attendance is recorded for EVIT and Satellite campuses.
- Works closely with Outreach Coordinator to make calls to parents/guardians and or home high schools to ascertain reasons for absences and/or tardiness, i.e., if such absences are lawful or known to parents; resolve issues and document contacts.
- Runs attendance reports periodically, per instructions of Supervisor, i.e., by program, grade level, special needs, etc.; verify with Supervisor accuracy of daily membership and attendance reports.
- Compiles attendance records for the school district; issues attendance permits to students and answers inquiries.
- Collates data, and prepares and submits required state reports per Arizona Department of Education (ADE) guidelines.
- Ensures confidentiality of all program records and student information.
- Assists in directing students and parents that enter the registration area.
- Develops and establishes effective working relationships with sending school personnel and EVIT staff.
- Develops a strong understanding of attendance requirements pursuant to State guidelines.
- Works cooperatively with program instructors while monitoring student progress.
- Assists EVIT receptionist, as needed.
- Attends meetings and training per requirements of the Supervisor.
- Participates on two school committees as determined annually.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of post-secondary coursework in secretarial training and data entry preferred; and
- Two or more years of increasingly responsible secretarial and clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.

EVIT offers over 40 CTE programs at four centralized campuses. Centralized campus programs provide two to four hours of hands-on training every day and prepare students for professional certification and licensing exams. EVIT students who complete their training have a 98 percent high school graduation rate and 90 percent on average are in jobs related to their training, college or the military within a year. Two out of three EVIT students go on to college.

The beginning salary for this full-time, 12-month position, is approximately $19.76 - $25.31 an hour; competitive salary based on education and like experience.
Position Summary:
Under general supervision, the Attendance Clerk performs a variety of routine and complex clerical duties related to student attendance and the maintenance of computerized student records for EVIT.
