The Role
What You Will Do
- Maintains main reception area in a manner that immediately conveys agency’s professionalism.
- Operates primary switchboard, which may be computerized and routes incoming calls to appropriate parties.
- Takes telephone messages and forwards to appropriate parties.
- Greets visitors to program site and refers them to appropriate parties.
- Maintains a warm, but professional demeanor in all interactions with community, clients served and staff.
- Signs for all incoming packages and pick-up services for outgoing packages.
- Enforces and complies with security measures that may be implemented to protect the integrity of program environment (sign-in/sign-out sheets, visitor badges, incident reports, fire drills, security alarm procedures and trains security personnel on same.
- Observes all pertinent laws governing client and/or staff confidentiality.
Who You Will Be
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- At least two (2) years of experience as a Switchboard Operator or Receptionist.
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to display good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, clients and visitors.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing or shifting priorities and demands.
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic a socioeconomic background.
