The Research Analyst provides high-level administrative support by conducting market research, preparing quarterly and annual market reports, and handling information requests in support of the County Assessor.

Candidates will be required to submit a market report on a property type of our choosing at the time of the interview.This classification is in the unclassified service and is exempt from the Pima County Merit System Rules.
Duties/Responsibilities
(Work assignments may vary depending on the department's needs and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor.)
A typical day as a Research Analyst may include:
- Conduct market research, compile data, and prepare reports to provide a clear and insightful analysis of the residential and commercial Real Estate markets in Pima County.
- Work closely with Business Services, Real Property, Business Personal Property, and Computer Aided Mass Appraisal (CAMA) Divisions to gather data for specific research projects.
- Assist with developing close connections with the commercial Real Estate community to track market metrics for industrial, retail, office, and multifamily specialties across Pima County.
- Use property data, from both internal and external sources, to forecast sales trends and produce insightful research outputs, written analysis, and market publications.
- Compile statistical data by translating and converting data to graphs/tables/charts.
- Organize the preparation and production of customized, client-specific property information packages in response to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Work closely with CAMA to assist with sales validations.
- Assist in the creation of department forms, training materials, and client reports.
- Perform general clerical duties such as maintaining records, managing database systems, and updating master spreadsheets/logs.
- Perform other duties/special projects as assigned or requested by the County Assessor.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative and inclusive style to work effectively in a team environment.
- Great communication skills, able to write routine reports and correspondence, and to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and visualization.
- Working with Microsoft Word products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, or similar packages).
- Strong data software application skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education, skills, and experience that the Elected Official deems appropriate for a position on the personal staff of the Elected Official.

Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in Real Estate and/or market research in a professional office environment.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in data analytics in a professional office environment.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience researching economic factors that contribute to the state of commercial and residential Real Estate markets.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, or similar programs.

Licenses and Certificates: Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant's suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services' review and approval of the candidate's driving record.
