```Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Reading Specialist to join our team. As a Reading Specialist, you will work closely with students to improve their reading skills and promote a love for reading. Your expertise in instructional design, learning technology, and childhood development will be essential in creating effective literacy education programs.
Duties:
- Assess students' reading abilities and develop individualized reading plans
- Provide direct instruction to students in reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary
- Utilize learning technology and digital resources to enhance reading instruction
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support literacy instruction in the classroom
- Implement behavior management strategies to create a positive and engaging learning environment
- Utilize a Learning Management System (LMS) to track student progress and communicate with parents/guardians
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Provide guidance and support to teachers on effective literacy strategies and classroom management techniques
- Collaborate with other specialists, such as speech therapists or occupational therapists, to address students' specific needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid teaching certification with a specialization in reading or literacy education
- Proven experience as a Reading Specialist or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of childhood development and literacy education best practices
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, teachers, and parents/guardians
- Excellent classroom management skills to create a positive and productive learning environment
- Ability to effectively manage conflicts and address behavior issues
