R&D Tax Credit Project Manager
This is a fully remote position.
The R&D Tax Credit PM will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to conduct Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credit consulting services. Duties include leading Client interviews and discussions, assessing applicability of R&D Tax Credit, calculating R&D credit amount, preparing supporting documentation and reports, performing technical research at federal and state levels, and developing knowledge of R&D applications by industry.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial interviews with Client to understand operations and R&D applications of the company and to identify Qualifying Research Activities.
- Preparation of accurate credit calculations, including data gathering, development of calculation templates, and preparation of the related tax forms, at the federal and state level for multiple clients simultaneously in accordance with deadlines as required.
- Conduct in-depth interviews with Client personnel to gain high-level understanding of qualifying activities and process of experimentation utilized by technical staff.
- Preparation of thorough and accurate final reports documenting the Client’s R&D Tax Credit, including description of the R&D study process conducted, supporting documentation of Qualifying Research Expenses, supporting documentation of Qualifying Research Activities, and other information demonstrating the R&D activities of the Client.
- Perform audit support for clients as necessary, including preparation of schedules, drafting responses to IRS inquiries, participating in meetings with IRS agents to support R&D credits claimed, and other audit support as required.
- Develop and sustain excellent client relationships to ensure timely reception of supporting data and perform regular status updates as the study progresses toward completion in accordance with project deadlines.

Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree with a focus in accounting, engineering, or related field.
- 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Sec.174).
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, strong and written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to excel in client situations.
- CPA or J.D. candidates strongly preferred.
- Residence in the United States and authorized to work in the United States.
