Job Description
Astura’s Machine Technician will be working with the Engineering department and responsible for the modification and repair of surgical instrumentation. The primary goal of the Technician is to work with engineering and quality control to ensure all damaged instrumentation is repaired in a timely manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Repair: responsible for performing various repair operations such as--mechanical assembly/disassembly, milling, drilling, grinding, media blasting, calibration, etc.
- Documentation: responsible for working within the company’s electronic document control system to create the documentation necessary to track the device modifications.
Qualifications
- Excellent understanding of fundamental mechanical principles
- Hands-on mechanical ability and machine experience
- Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Creative thinker and problem solver
- Motivated and self-starter
- Detail oriented
- Organized
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, Outlook
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in all job responsibilities listed above (proficiency test will be conducted)
- Manufacturing experience, preferably machining and/or mechanical assembly.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
