About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security - Range Branch, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.Qualifications:

Permanent change of station (PCS) costs may be authorized.
Recruitment and relocation incentives may be authorized.
Student loan repayment may be authorized.
Salary negotiations for those candidates who are new to Federal service may be authorized.
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 13 months by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition if the incumbent meets the eligibility criteria for specific appointment authorities in accordance with 9902(b)(2) of title 5, U.S.C.
Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years.
Term positions can be made permanent without further competition as long as all conditions are in accordance with 9902(b)(2) of title 5, U.S.C.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Scheduling training areas, ranges, and facilities; 2) Inspecting training areas to determine compliance with safety; AND 3) Providing clerical support operating a computer on automated ranges and maneuver Live Fire ranges.
OR
Education:Successful completion of one full year (18 semester hours) of progressive higher graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree that is directly related to the work of the position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 9) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
  • Customer Service
  • Inspection Management
  • Training and Training Support

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
NOTE: To support the Advancement requirement you MUST submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50 that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package. You must meet the one year time-in-grade requirement so you will need to provide an SF-50 which clearly demonstrates you meet the time-in-grade requirements. Failure to do so may affect your rating or consideration for employment.
Education: Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience.
Foreign education must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency in order to be considered for this position. Please submit your foreign education evaluation with your application.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
