We are looking for a Rail Logistics Analyst to perform these key functions at our Macon, GA location.

Position Summary
- Role is responsible for the following:
- Daily analysis and review of customer railcar locations
- Advising AMI plant production of incoming empty railcar arrival schedule
- Advising AMI Sales of outgoing loaded railcar shipments
- Communicating with AMI bulk rail customers regarding shipment schedule, railcar movements, changes, special requests, etc.
- Providing AMI Sales and Operations information regarding customer requirements
- Communicating regularly with railroad partners to ensure good service and promote AMI interests
Essential Functions
- Work independently to identify opportunities, cost savings, and improvements. Take initiative to take corrective actions to resolve issues.
- Be resourceful and take multiple approaches to find best solutions.
- Communicate and provide accurate, dependable, and consistent results. Provide scheduled and ad-hoc reports as needed.
- Develop relationships with the rail lines, sales and plant personnel to optimize alignment across functions
- Develop relationships with customer personnel responsible for supply chain to ensure requirements are met.
- Assist plants with railcar rotation to optimize credits and minimize demurrage costs.
- Manage and coordinate railcar lease information with supporting sales team.
- support other logistics and operations functions as needed
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or Associate’s degree accepted; three to five year’s related experience and/or training preferred
- Familiar with transportation logistics modes in general with focus on rail operations.
- Able to work well with people at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office 365 products, strong Excel skills..
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple projects.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Working Conditions/Environment
- Primarily office environment
- May require minimal travel to plant locations
- Employee must be able to sit, stoop, bend and lift up to 25 lbs.
