Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Design Development:
    • Work closely with the Rail Design team to contribute to the development and enhancement of rail infrastructure projects.
    • Collaborate with rail engineers on the creation of detailed design drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • CAD Modeling and Drafting:
    • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software (Microstation) to create accurate and detailed models and drawings.
    • Assist with ensuring designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and project requirements.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Assist in collecting and analyzing data relevant to rail projects.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineers and project managers.
    • Communicate effectively to convey ideas, progress, and challenges.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure designs are error-free and meet client standards.
  • Other duties assigned or required to meet the business needs
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency with electronic communication including e-mail and text, as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Possess basic oral and written communication skills
  • Interact with other staff
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
  • No experience required.
