Location: Springfield, WA
Contract Term: 13-weeks
Reports to: OR Manager, Director of Nursing
Work Schedule: No nights, no weekends, no holidays, no on-call requirement
Job Overview: The Radiology Technician is responsible for performing fluoroscopy (C-arm) procedures in the operating room. This role involves participating in preoperative patient assessment, maintaining and documenting properly calibrated equipment, and keeping a log of all C-arm procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Center.
- Perform according to approved policies and procedures.
- Contribute as a team member in support of the total perioperative process.
- Consider patient rights in the performance of job duties.
- Contribute to the approved QAPI Program and support risk management.
- Participate in programs directed to patient and staff safety.
- Contribute to the quality improvement process.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor/management, patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
- Maintain and promote professional competence through continuing education.
- Participate in committees and quality improvement activities.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Report observed or suspected violations, hazards, and noncompliance.
- Respond to emergency situations with competence and composure.
- Interact appropriately with various age groups and provide age-specific care.
- Assemble necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduled procedures.
- Test and monitor equipment for proper working condition.
- Confirm proper shielding before activating C-arm.
- Apply prescribed procedures to perform radiology technician functions.
- Follow principles and aseptic technique during procedures.
- Perform required maintenance of equipment according to guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Document records and other forms according to Center policy.
- Communicate patient status to others responsible for patient care.
- Comprehend and interpret verbal orders and direction.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Education, Experience, and Training:
- Associates Degree in Applied Science (A.S) or equivalent from a two-year college and technical school.
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) years of radiology technician experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- A.A.R.T certification
- BLS
Computer Skills:
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Walk, sit, stand, use hands, reach, talk, hear, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
