Astrion has an exciting opportunity for aRadar Test Engineer supporting a Ground /Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) program for the Navy Division.
The program provides engineering and technical services necessary to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center - Port Hueneme Division's (PHD) mission, including In-Service Engineering, Acquisition Engineering, Software Support (ISE/AE/SSA), Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Installation Services/Support/Coordination, Programmatic/ Project Management Support, and Staging Facility Support Services.
For this specific position, the candidate will provide direct support to the Government In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) as support to the Ground /Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) the candidate should have background knowledge in DoD Acquisition test methodologies and participate in planning and onsite execution of test events. A background in networking and system administration, and familiarity with the Linux OS is desired for this position. Requirements for this position include proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), critical thinking, able to work within a team environment, and execute tasks as directed to meet product deadlines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics
- 10-12 yrs (desired that the candidate has a minimum of 4 years' experience supporting radar-specific testing and evaluation)
- Active Secret Clearance U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants
- Certifications: N/A
- The Test Engineer will have knowledge of DoD Acquisition test methodologies and participation in the planning and execution of test events
- Practical experience with test planning, test coordination, range operations, and scheduling test resources
- The Test Engineer will support test and evaluation efforts related to the development, testing, and analysis of G/ATOR upgrades, replacement, or modifications
- Participate in testing and evaluation of G/ATOR system improvements and new software baselines, documenting test results and recommendations
- Participate in technical documentation review and modifications
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- A background in networking and system administration and familiarity with the Linux OS
- Practical experience with Air Defense/Surveillance Radar (AD/SR), Air Traffic Control (ATC) Radar, or Ground Weapons Locating Radar (GWLR) operations
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Test Engineer will test-related technical, cost, and schedule inputs to G/ATOR PMO
- Provide technical leadership of Modular Field Test Capability (MFTC) product structure, maintenance, configuration, design updates, and spare planning for the MFTC units owned by the government.
- Review and provide input to Northrop Grumman contract deliverables related to the MFTC's
- Manage and maintain the Analysis & Reduction for Operational Assessment (ARORA) units owned by the government to enable the collection, management, archive, and distribution of data during G/ATOR engineering events
- The Test Engineer will develop site diagrams and plans to support data collection during PMO-directed and led engineering events
- Maintain information assurance, cybersecurity, and software application credentials and certifications in order to execute test support tasking
- Prepare input for test-related G/ATOR programmatic and milestone reviews
- Conduct trade studies, cost/benefit analyses, and alternative courses of action for test-related data collection, setup, and execution plans
- The Test Engineer will participate in engineering and test IPTs, working groups, and related meetings
