This position will support the Government customer in an NRO Systems Program Office (SPO) with the development of a new satellite and ground system. It will require a senior Systems Engineer fluent in the NRO acquisition/Systems Engineering processes in order to assist the customer with a successful acquisition. This position will support the later phases of the lifecycle starting with system integration and test. It will require specific knowledge of GEOINT Ground Systems and software processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and review Requests for Change (RFCs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and development contracts
- Foster collaboration amongst team in multi-contractor, FFRDC, and government environment to enable end-to-end enterprise solutions
- Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications through functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, and interface definition studies
- Develop, plan, and execute enterprise test campaigns for cross-functional teams
- Develop, allocate, and review verification of GEOINT mission management and command and control requirements
- Provide recommendations to government customer for management of ground software acquisitions
- Provide ground software subject matter expertise to teams coordinating CONOPs, interface definitions, and operational procedures
- Brief senior government customer on program status, schedule, enterprise dependencies, and risks
- Facilitate action and risk closure with enterprise Directorates and Acquisition Offices
Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD and 4 years experience
- Fluent in NRO Systems Engineering processes
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government team environment
- Must possess an active TS/SBI security clearance with CI poly
