POSITION TITLE: Quick Access Nurse Practitioner

SALARY RANGE: $121,952.52 to $170,319.99
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our healthcare team as a full-time Family Medicine NP. As a Quick Access NP, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive medical care to patients who require immediate attention; you will not have an assigned panel of continuity patients. Specific Tasks/Duties Include:- Same Day/Stand-by Patient Care: The Clinician will have the expertise to treat patients with acute medical needs. You will assess and diagnose acute medical conditions, minor injuries, and provide appropriate treatment, ensuring timely and compassionate care.
- Full Scope Family Medicine: As a key member of our healthcare team, the Clinician will have the expertise to handle a broad range of family medicine cases, including but not limited to general illnesses, preventive care, chronic disease management, women's health, pediatric care, and geriatric care.
- Medical Assessments: Conduct thorough medical assessments, review patient medical history, and perform physical examinations to develop accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
- Medical Procedures: Perform minor medical procedures such as suturing, wound care, injections, and other basic medical interventions, as required for immediate patient care.
- Collaborative Approach: Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including specialists, nurses, and support staff, to ensure seamless patient management and referrals when necessary.
- Patient Education: Take the time to educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to enhance overall health and wellbeing.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate electronic medical records (EMRs) of all patient encounters, treatments, and follow-ups in compliance with relevant healthcare regulations.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest medical advancements, evidence-based practices, and guidelines to deliver the best possible care to patients.
- Emergency Situations: Be prepared to respond efficiently to medical emergencies that may arise during Same Day/Stand-by patient care; Basic Life Support Certification required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration
- Prior experience in delivering urgent or acute care, emergency medicine, or other relevant settings is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong patient provider relationships.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple cases efficiently.
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Nurse Practitioner Certification from an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience as a Full Scope Family Medicine Provider Clinician.
- Active and unrestricted NP license in California
- Minimum Two years' experience in a community health center setting preferred.
- Ability to work independently with physician telephone backup.
- Current BLS certification
- Candidate must be able to successfully meet SRCH's credentialing and privileging requirements.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (speak, read, and write) preferred, but not required
- Demonstrates knowledge of compliance issues within the community clinic environment
- Demonstrates a willingness to report any incident that is unusual or incompatible with accepted clinic procedures.
- Complies with HIPAA policies
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be sensitive with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
