Serve as a CMM Programmer / Quality Technician in inspection of high quality finished goods utilizing a CMM machine or appropriate hand measurement tools. Provide guidance and innovative ideas related to programming and fulfillment of all components necessary for exhibits and fixtures.
Responsibilities
- Write / Edit CMM program requirements to accurately measure design and engineering requirements.
- Maintain CMM work instructions for the set-up and inspection of parts
- Analyze and interpret blue prints, models, manuals, etc. to determine specifications, inspection / testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods
- Provide direction / feedback to machine operators and engineering department functions based on results of measurements taken (CMM or hand measurements)
- Provide input on technical matters pertaining to inspection methodology and responsibility
- Support calibration efforts of tools and equipment on shop floor
- Assist in incoming / receiving inspection of parts and material certs, including review and storage of files.
- Review and evaluate suspect product (from production floor or returned from customer)
- Document non-conforming product supported with measurement evidence
- Provide support to operations assembly and production when necessary
- Provide support for continuous improvement activities, companywide
- Other duties as required to meet business needs
Qualifications & Experience
- Must have working knowledge of GD&T principles and their relation to inspection
- Proficiency in PC-DMIS CMM Programming, Zeiss experience a plus
- Experience with dimensional inspections
- Experience working with machined components
- Experience with PPAP's
- Must have proven ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionally
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working
- Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
