We are seeking a creative, driven, and highly motivated Quality Technician to join our team!
Summary:
The Quality Technician provides Manufacturing and Assembly personnel with inspection data and verifies that manufactured and purchased parts conform to engineering specifications and customer drawings. The Quality Technician will be trained on how to use a laser tracker to inspect parts.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will verify that parts meet all customer requirements as specified in a customer quality plan. We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a similar field and a good knowledge of inspection methods who can operate a fork truck, 5/10+ crane, and complete basic Laser Tracker maintenance as specified.
- Verifies that manufactured and purchased parts conform to engineering specifications and drawings utilizing a Laser Tracker
- Marks up manufactured parts for finish machining operations as required by the manufacturing routing
- Provides subassembly personnel with inspection data when adjustments are required to meet final accuracy requirements
- Verifies that subassemblies meet the accuracy requirements specified by engineering specifications and drawings
- Create programs for Laser Tracker from part drawings and CAD data
- Create inspection reports from gathered data and process Defective Work Tickets
Qualifications & Experience:
- Ability to work on very large parts using ladders or lifts.
- Good basic knowledge of inspection methods, procedures, equipment and layouts.
- Ability to mark up manufactured parts for finish operations as required by the manufacturing routing.
- Ability to read blueprints and customer documentation.
- Good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT) concepts and have the ability to interpret these basic concepts.
- Some computer skills required.
- Must be capable to use shop floor inspection equipment
- At least two years experience in a similar field.
- Manufacturing experience required
Education:
- High school education (or GED)
Other Requirements:
- Must be a team player.
- Must work Overtime as required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
