This is a contract to hire role
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Inspection of products, components or assemblies using basic inspection techniques.
Key Functions:
• Able to read an Engineering print and interpret inspection requirements
• Selection and use of correct inspection tools and gauges to execute a job
• Use of standard hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges and optical comparator
• Dimensional inspection of geometric dimensioning and tolerances GD&T requirements using standard equipment such as micro-height gages, rollers and dial indicators.
• Basic understanding of Portable CMM equipment
• Perform dimensional inspections on machined parts using inspection tools and devices
• Execute inspection plans on parts
• Inspect machine parts for quality standards and specialty items including threads, coatings, finishes and purchased parts for production
• Record and complete QC documentation requirements including attachment of inspection tools and gauges to inspection record
• Ability to use network databases via PC
• Document records of work performed
• Wear PPE at all times and observe health, safety and environmental policies
• Successfully complete required safety training (including but not limited to forklift, drugs and alcohol, electrical, emergency response, fire, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, SIPP, risk reporting, IT security, hazardous materials, driving)
• Employees may be assigned additional responsibilities in addition to or in lieu of those described above.
Special Knowledge & Skills:
• Select tools and gauges without assistance
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GDT)
• Basic use of Portable CMM equipment
• Knowledge of receiving/machine-shop inspection process and practice
• Execute inspection plans on parts without assistance
• Completed RTST Training Matrix for Basic and Intermediate skills as defined by the inspection supervisor
Supervision:
• Normal supervision required
• Direct Supervisor: QC Supervisor
Minimum Education:
• Minimum high school or equivalent
• Vocational or trade school preferred
Experience:
• 2-5 years relevant experience in Quality Control
