3rd shift Quality Supervisor
SUMMARY
Supervises 3rd shift Technical Services department and coordinates shift related to Quality Control, Inspection Department (QCID), and Lab activities. Overtime, and/or weekend work may be necessary as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention and employee involvement regarding a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization.
- Promotes the company culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company.
- Observes machines and equipment for malfunction and orders adjustments or repairs or directs workers to adjust or repair.
- Recommends measures to improve methods, equipment performance, efficiency, and quality of products.

- Inspects equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Examines materials and products at various stages of processing for conformance to specifications.
- Establishes or adjusts work instructions to meet ISO requirements.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problem.
- Initiates plans and motivates employees to achieve work goals.
- Initiates cost reduction and supports team cost reduction goals.
- Interprets company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations.
- Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
- Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise a shift of employees in the Technical Services Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaint and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred; and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
