Your role at Clorox:
3rd Shift Position- 10:00 pm to 6:30 am Sunday through Thursday
Perform raw material testing, release testing to ensure bulk products and finished goods manufactured at Burt's Bees, Inc. meet product quality specifications. Ability to operate, train, and troubleshoot all equipment in lab. Review current lab processes and improve. Microbiology experience and knowledge.
In this role, you will:
- Assists with microbial testing of finished goods, bulk, and raw materials
- Accurately documents testing information and results
- Special quality projects as assigned
- Perform bulk testing as a backup
- Prepare and sterility test media
- Review all DTRs for release of materials
- Create accurate COAs for finished goods testing
- Distribute finished good samples for testing
- Review COC (Chain of Custody) and Line Clearance forms for finished goods samples
- Perform non-micro finished goods testing: Specific gravity & pH
- Ability to operate micro lab equipment: Neogen Soleris, Autoclave
- Ability to operate pH meter, viscometer, penetrometer, TOC analyzer
- Ability to calibrate pH meter and scales
- Assist in all micro suite cleaning processes

- Provide backup to the Microbiology Technician

- Perform all training related to safety, GMP, sustainability, and environmental
- Understands and utilizes continuous improvement tools
- Provide backup to Quality lab
- Ensure all expired material is labeled appropriately
- Provide backup to raw material sampler
- Other Scope Factors: contributes to quality projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
Education/Years and Type of Experience:
BA/BS Degree in Chemistry, Lab Science, Biology, Microbiology or related field required and two (2) years of related experience required OR AA/AS Degree in a related lab science filed required and five (5) years of related industry experience in a research, analytical or Quality Department laboratory required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability in analytical reasoning is required.
- Demonstrated ability in operating and troubleshooting industrial testing equipment, including a penetrometer, melting point apparatus, viscometer, pH meter, GC, HPLC, FTIR, Uv/Vis, etc. as needed.
- Understanding of microbiology process, plating, methods, etc.
- Exceptional understanding of all lab equipment
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills are required
Starting base pay: $23.46 / hour; Shift Differential: Yes
