1262-Textile Lab Technician

Job Description:
Ability to work in a lab atmosphere

Operate in safe and environmentally friendly manner in ALL areas of operations.

Perform all lab duties in compliance with company and local EHS regulations

Follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Ability to communicate situations / issues effectively.

Ability to execute a lab project safely and in an accurate and timely manner, documenting all data and results and attaching in the TESI system.

Perform physical tests and analysis of substrates from lab or bulk trials

Evaluate data results; formulate reports from data collected in accordance with standard test methods and processes and/or specific guidance from lab leader

Utilize the global communications tool, TESI, for documentations of all lab requests.

Internal/External Communications with AM/TS/Customers

Perform tests to make sure our customer's requirements, industry requirements, and/or governmental safety requirements are followed.

Troubleshoot problems and test products and fabric for our customers

Perform housekeeping duties in work area and maintain a Safe Work Environment

Requirements

Education/Experience: University Degree in Science with 1-2 years laboratory experience - OR

High School Diploma, GED equivalent, 3+ years lab experience in textiles 3+ years lab experience in textiles

Know-how/skills: Basic math/algebra knowledge; Basic computer skills; Prior work experience within the textile or other job-related field: ability to apply chemicals, dye fabric, & shade match a color assessment, data evaluation, analytical thinking.

Experience with laboratory equipment; knowledge of FTIR, EXTRACTIONS, UV/VIS, NEAR IR, and TLC, SPECTROPHOTOMETRY, AATCC, ASTM a plus Test Methods. Analytical Thinking. - all a major plus

Ability to take/follow direction.

Act on a project, report project status/results, and communicate well to peers.

Basic computer skills and ability to work alone, follow direction, prioritize, ask questions, if unsure and ability to work in a group atmosphere.
