We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Quality Managerrole to support our Florence, South Carolina plant. JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Manager coordinates and manages the activities of Technologists, Lab Personnel, and Quality Engineers (warranty, supplier, customer). Manages team across multiple shifts and coordinates activities between operations and QA. Controls departmental costs, scrap, purchased supplies, and quality of products while supporting uptime targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinates the development and planning of new programs and events.
- Responsible for goals and objectives as they pertain to quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
- Maintains a positive employee relations environment.
- Establishes and monitors quality performance to cost budgets. Implements proper measures to continually reduce costs.
- Assists the production and engineering departments with investigations and resolutions of chronic or severe in-plant quality problems. Decides disposition of non-conforming product.
- Manages engineers responsible for warranty, purchased parts, and customer support.
- Establishes and monitors quality performance within the department. Uses good problem-solving techniques to identify root cause. Implements actions to eliminate further occurrences.
- Administers shop floor management systems to ensure compliance and increase customer satisfaction.
- Monitors safety performance daily and facilitates implementation of action to improve safety performance. Proactive in identifying and addressing safety concerns before an accident occurs.
- Plans for new projects and processes based upon information from engineering and management that affects assigned area of responsibility. Contacts other workgroups within the company to obtain their services and support for determining content and timing of these new processes.
- Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards.
- Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development; interviews and selects unit employees; plans and evaluates employee performance; recommends merit increases, transfers and promotions; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors time and attendance of subordinates.
- As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education and Experience):

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of directly related professional-level Engineering experience
- Minimum of 2 years in an engineering role exhibiting leadership skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and other PC applications
- In-depth understanding of lithium battery manufacturing, product knowledge, battery manufacturing processes and equipment, and related information systems. Preferred experience in NPW, APW, TPS, or similar lean manufacturing production system training and execution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; report writing skills, presentation abilities, and motivational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with all staff levels and disciplines is a must. Able to work cross-functionally with staff in Operations, Production, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, etc.
- Formal problem-solving experience on complex issues.
- Outstanding planning, scheduling, and organizational and demonstrated leadership skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
