SUMMARY: Ensures optimum-quality products that meet HCI’s high standards and customer expectations. Maintains consistent quality to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory standards, recommending improvements where necessary.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interfaces with appropriate departments to ensure design specifications meet or exceed all applicable regulatory standards and comply with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements.
  • Provides sales and production support as needed.
  • Works well in teams, including a sense of urgency and commitment to deadlines.
  • Handles material review board responsibilities as needed.
  • Interacts and collaborates effectively with internal and external team members to ensure needs of the company are met.
  • Interfaces with outside vendors as required.
  • Upholds Hydraulic Controls’ quality procedures and processes.
  • Intimate knowledge of ISO9001 and the certification process.
  • Interface with customers on quality related issues including corrective actions, customer returns, revision changes, paperwork, certification corrections, etc.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes: Ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze production data: Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
  • Coordinate and conduct quality inspections: Cover incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
  • Proficient in conducting quality inspections using various tools and techniques.
  • Conduct regular quality audits: Assess compliance with internal standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes: Ensure product quality, inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Willingness to travel regularly between two set HCI locations and occasionally to other HCI locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Background in engineering or a related field, experience in quality management, and familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO standards.
  • Possess a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Professionalism in interactions with people of all levels, internal and external.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Familiar with Inventory management processes.
  • Proficient with Excel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Frequently required to walk, sit.
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear.
  • Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally works in high, precarious places.
  • Occasionally works around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
