Job Description JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- With support and input from the Quality Manager (QM), Quality Engineer (QE), Quality Compliance Manager (QCM), Quality Specialist (QS) & Quality Process & Documentation Specialist (QPDS) develop and install an effective quality assurance system.
- Guarantees a smooth flow of product through the quality process by driving task completion to current demand.
- Ability to understand and use measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, Smart Scopes, etc.
- Verifies product and material requirements and specifications by comparing actual data gathered versus the requirement.
- Must pass the internal inspection test and gain an inspection stamp within 90 days.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Gain the ability to understand AQL (acceptable quality level) and abbreviated inspection process methodologies.
- Able to participate in the root cause analysis process as a problem solver.
- Verifies that the proper documentation is part of the job package and that all product requirements have been verified.
- Drives the culture of quality at the source.
- Ensures proper quality, quantity, and timely shipment of finished product through interfacing with employees in other departments.
- Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas of lack of cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team and work with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues affecting process or production flow.
- Actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
Blue Print Reading: Ability to read and interpret blue prints and drawings.
Quality Tools: Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
Supervision: Ability to work without direct supervision.
Mechanical Skills: Good mechanical skills and abilities;
Problem-Solving Skills: Good problem-solving skills; ability to utilize problem-solving methods and techniques to perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to correct problems.
Judgment: High level of judgment and decision-making abilities.
Interpersonal Communications: Ability to convey information accurately and effectively.
Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes: Good understanding and working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Lean Thinking: Learns and practices lean principles and applies tools and techniques.
Hudson Operating systems principles and objectives (this competency appears in all job descriptions): Knows all Hudson established operating systems (e.g. quality, environmental). Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
RequirementsPURPOSE OF THE JOB
To evaluate product conformance and make recommendations for the manufacturing process by assessing process capability results versus specifications.
Educational Requirements
Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
GD&T Training preferred.
Advance measurement training preferred.
Technical Experience: 1 year in quality discipline related to inspection required.
Hands on use of precision measurement devices.
Aptitudes of interpreting drawings with and without GD&T elements.
Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
CMM experience preferred.
Industry Experience: Experience in a metal stamping/forming industry preferred.
