What to expect:
You will be part of a global inspection team assuring the quality of components and assemblies that this global aerospace leader is sourcing from one or more suppliers in this area. This a full-time, 1 - 2-year contract position, on the second shift, 2:30 pm - 11 pm. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client needs and each supplier’s production schedule.
What you’ll do:
Provides supervision, oversight, and technical leadership to the inspectors on-site.
Liaison between Boeing and SQA inspection team.
Provide direction to inspectors to ensure quality requirements and performance goals are achieved.
Coach, mentor, and train inspection personnel to enhance their skill sets.
Ensure aircraft structures comply with applicable drawings/specifications.
Set a good leadership example for staff to follow and streamline inspection methods and processes.
Observe and verify the accuracy and adequacy of the inspection activities and records. Maintains quality metrics and reports, as required, and implements appropriate preventive/corrective action to improve quality.
Supervises the day-to-day activities of the quality inspection team on the inspection of materials, processes, parts, assemblies, and finished parts to assure quality products.
Provides quality expertise and training for all inspection positions to maintain a smooth-flowing operation.
Routinely inspects products as needed for all product lines.
Participate in the daily Supervisor meetings ensuring Quality items/issues for the scope of the work are discussed.
What you’ll need:
Must have aero structure commodity experience.
Experience and knowledge of Wing Center Section, Bulkhead Wheel Wells, Section 48, and Horizontal Stabilizers.
Experience with aerostructures/sheet metal is a must.
Ability to understand and interpret blueprints (GD&T) and all applicable drawings.
Experience with nonconformance investigation.
Experience inspecting mechanical parts.
Experience with product verification to drawing requirements.
Strong communication and technology skills.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be a US Citizen
