The Quality Inspector is accountable for the inspection of all products and raw materials, under the direction of the inspection lead / Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
- Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments where work instructions are well defined to check dimensions and record results.
- Perform necessary mathematical computations to determine extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork.
- Follow proper procedures to perform inspection checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that Work Instructions are being followed.
- Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of measuring equipment used in performing the work as necessary.
- Support and promote continuous improvement activities to meet business objectives.
- Must maintain Inspection stamp.
- Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
- Flexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime
- DQR / SQA experience preferred
- Comply with OSHA, health, safety and environment requirements.
- May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills.
Requirements
- Must be a "US Person", in accordance with US Government definitions.
- Must be able to work with ITAR related data without restriction.
- High School diploma or Equivalent degree required
- 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years inspection experience preferred (non-aerospace acceptable)
- Strong attention to detail requiring thoroughness of completing work tasks
- Superior integrity at all times
- Strong teamwork and cooperation skills
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible to changing work environment and assignments
- Demonstrated dependability in fulfilling obligations
- Demonstrated initiative to willingly take on responsibilities and challenges
- Proficient analytical thinking requiring analysis of information and use of logic to address issues
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and various Manufacturing ERPs (Job Boss, Unipoint)
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
