We provide design, development, manufacturing, assembly and packaging services for high precision transmission systems and precision plastic components. forteq is headquartered in Nidau, Switzerland and employs approximately 800 employees at several engineering and production sites in Europe, USA and China.
forteq North America is currently seeking Quality Lab Inspectors (B & C shifts) at our W. Henrietta, NY location. Under minimal supervisor, the Quality Inspector ensures the completion of all required quality assurance procedure on the Production Floor and Inspection Lab.
Responsibilities to include:
- Review quality status of current and upcoming job running with the outgoing QA inspector.
- Maintains ongoing dialog of quality findings with Shift Supervisor, Leads, other Inspectors, Engineers and Operators during the course of the shift.
- Reviews inspection logs and data to determine whether problematic jobs require extra attention and records findings of note throughout the shift.
- Conducts 1st piece, in process, final and receiving and other inspections per Dimesnsional Control Plans (DCP) and appropriate inspection forms using a variety of inspection and test equipment.
- Collects parts from production machines according to schedules, inspection plans and forms.
- Ensures all inspection procedures are followed and all data is entered on inspection charts, sheets, or in SPC software per requirements.
- Dispositions finished product.
- Conducts process and other audits as assigned.
- Notifies shift supervisor/set-up person of defective process or product, delivers machine shutdown notification as required.
- Reviews Dimensional Control Plans, SPC and inspection data and attribute charts and checks for out of control data.
- Collects molding samples and adds to sample boards or retention areas.
- Performs measurement studies (PPAP, Layout, capability, etc) when necessary as determined and scheduled by the Quality Engineer.
- Creates Rework/Sorting instructions and Quality Alerts as necessary.
- Makes appropriate IQMS transactions.
- Identifies and segregates nonconforming material.
- Files/enters inspection, certification, data and other documents as necessary.
- Maintains high quality standards.
- Maintains safe and clean work area(s).
- Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of injection molding process.
- Experience using various types of measuring equipment such as micometers, callipers, dials and drop gauges, CMMs, Vision Systems
- Familiarity or experience with SPC
- Familiarity or experience with Control Plans
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
