We are looking for level 2 or level 3 Quality Inspector for our weekday, day shift. We are looking for level 2 Quality Inspector for our weekday, night and weekend day shifts.
The Quality Inspector L2 is an intermediate level inspector, with the ability to fully perform the role of Quality Inspector – Level 1 along with the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering documentation and apply an advanced knowledge of manual tools. The Quality Inspector is capable of a wide range of inspection activities to include the inspection of machined parts, assemblies, raw material, heat treat, and outside processing.
The Quality Inspector L3 is an expert level inspector, with the ability to fully perform the role of Quality Inspector - Level 2 without supervision and will demonstrate extensive knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods per ASME 14.5. They will also demonstrate expert level blueprint reading and manufacturing/inspection related math skills. They will either serve as SMEs for mechanical, assembly or CMM inspection. These inspectors read and interpret results of inspections to determine product conformance and will have enough knowledge of manufacturing processes to provide detailed feedback on ways to improve product quality. These inspectors work independently and seek little guidance from higher level employees. They will also demonstrate advanced knowledge in AS9102 reporting, including the ability to create reports independently.
Shifts:
Weekday Days: Monday-Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
Weekday Nights: Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11pm
Weekend Days: Friday-Sunday 5am-5:30pm (Work 36hrs get paid for 40hrs)
Reporting Relationships:
The Quality Inspectorreports directly to the Quality Inspection Supervisor.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect fastener installation, sealant, raw material, simple machine parts, sheet metal parts, bushings, bearings, and standards, simple assemblies, outside processing (NDT, finishes, finish coatings, thermal processing, etc.)
- Document FAI report
- Document non-conformances
- May occasionally perform special projects
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Experience:
- L2: 1-3 years of related experience
- L3: 3-6 years of related experience
- Ability to be certified with Hardness and Eddy Current, Sealant, bushing and bearing installation, electrical bonding, and fastener installation.
- Proficient in computer skills
- Experienced in reading and correctly interpreting complex blueprints and engineering requirements
- Experience in applying shop math skills such as trigonometry, ability to calculate dimensions, set sine plate, etc.
- Basic understanding of BWMS (Business Quality Management System) processes and procedures
- Strong understanding of machine shop and aerospace assembly terminology and nomenclature
- Completion of Bushing and Bearing installation certification/evaluation
- Fully experienced with all basic and advanced manual inspection tools
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and write simple correspondence
- Ability to read and understand technical and engineering material and communicate effectively with coworkers
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Self-motivated with an ability to work alone or in a team environment
- Ability to maintain a positive focus and earnest approach in meeting responsibilities and goals
Level of Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
ITAR and EAR Disclosure
- This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful application must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work.
