Job Title: Quality Inspector
The Quality Inspector is responsible for helping the quality management system and improve the quality systems through measurement system analysis.
REQUIRES: Experience in reading GD&T customer drawings and understanding of basic measurement tools. CMM operation is a plus but can be taught over time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Perform assigned inspections on parts, product in process, and finished products.
· Inspect visually for obvious defects including but not limited to porosity, flaws in applied coatings, nicks, dings, burrs and assembly processes.
· Compare results with quality standards.
· Report inspection and test results to Quality Manager.
· Identify defectives and segregate from acceptable product.
· Notify Quality Manager and Program Engineer when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality are noted.
· Record results on inspection forms or charges and report number of defects found.
· Support the quality record retention requirements by assisting with filing and maintenance of Quality Records.
· Work alternate shifts and/or overtime as required.
· Adhere to all company Quality and Safety Procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Requirements:
3 years of experience as an inspector.
· Basic blueprint reading skills.
· REQUIRED: Use inspection gauges and test equipment.
· Able to work independently.
· Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T).
· Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Systems.
· Knowledge of calibration requirements/procedures.
· Sampling (AQL Levels, sampling tables).
· Internal Auditing Techniques desired, but not required.
· Proficiency with computer based applications.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-40 pounds.
· Specific vision capabilities are required for this job to perform tasks typically associated with inspection processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.00 per week
