Department: Quality Inspector
Summary: Adheres to all aspects of the Quality Management System.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Interpret and have a basic understanding of customer drawing, customer specification, manufacturer's hardware specifications and military standards.
- Interpret & follow verbal and documented work instructions.
- Capable of using measuring equipment including but not limited to:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Optical Comparator
- Gage Pins
- CMM
- Inspect incoming raw material and purchased hardware.
- Inspect 1st piece prior to production.
- Inspect in-process product moving between operations.
- Inspect product incoming from outside services.
- Inspect final product.
- Capable of understanding and completing quality inspection documentation including AS9102 forms.
- Report all nonconformities to the Quality Manager.
- Troubleshoot and assist not only quality questions but questions from all departments and employees. (example: Front Office, E-coat, Manufacturing Floor)
- Capable of understanding and completing quality inspection documentation including AS9102 forms.
- Suggests new testing or inspection methods to minimize inspection efforts required.
- Trains co-workers in quality control concepts as requested.
- Performs necessary maintenance of equipment as needed.
- Remains current on quality control practices and trends through publications, seminars, conferences, and related trade shows.
- Reports any problems or discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
- Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
- Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, JobBOSS®, and other software that pertains to the position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
