General Description
This position is responsible for incoming, first, last and in-process inspections, roving audits and final release checks. An inspector I is also required to assist production and or engineering in various daily tasks if the need arises. This position works mainly in the quality lab and occasionally on the production floor. This is a highly responsible position requiring good attention to detail and having the ability to work with minimal amounts of supervision. This position requires the use and understanding of quality inspection tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
1.Collects samples at scheduled intervals from each machine.
2. Perform the necessary visual Quality testing procedures on samples.
3. Utilize tools, gauges and other inspection equipment to obtain product specification data.
4. Accurately record information consistent with the department format and Viant's good documentation practices.
5. Communicate with all necessary personnel in an effort to consistently run high quality product.
6. Follow departmental and company procedures while performing daily tasks and assignments.
7. Maintain all work areas daily in a neat and orderly manner.
8. Inspect and document in-bound raw materials.
9. Create non-conformance/MRB records and place non-conforming product on hold.
10. Assist engineering team as needed.
11. Assist production as needed. This may include running a press or processing rework.
12. Utilize ticket system to prioritize work and have tasks completed in a timely manner.
13. Conduct quality inspections on reworked product.
14. Work on validation projects as needed.
15. Manage production, quality and validation retains.
16. Provide training and development for Quality Inspectors and Operators.
17. Create and submit engineering change orders for updating procedures, quality inspection sheets and other various documentation.
18. Create Job Packets.
19. Participate in Material Review Board activities
20. Work as a team to efficiently execute daily tasks.
21. Utilize Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and power point when necessary.
22. Data entry
23. Attend shift turnover meetings and have positive/constructive communication between the shifts.
Prerequisites
Ability to read and write in English
Experience with ANSI Sampling Plans Preferred
Knowledge of measurement instrumentation (Caliper, Micrometer, Ruler, Gauge Blocks, etc.)
Experience with automated and manual inspection equipment is a plus (CMM, OGP, etc.)
Experience with material analysis is a plus (i.e. FTIR, Melt Flow Testing, etc.)
Experience with ISO 13485 processes is a plus
Ability to read part prints is a plus
An understanding of GD&T is a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft word and excel
Education Guidelines
- 0 -3 years Experience, Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
