POSITION SUMMARY
Position works in Quality Control to ensure product specifications are strictly adhered to by performing incoming, first sample, in-process, and final Quality Control inspections of product using a microscope and various measurement tools.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
• Inspect and record results of products at specified stages of the production process to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products.
• Enter data into SAP system software during inspection procedures.
• Responsible for compilation of inspection reports and records.
• Communication of visual and dimensional results to production (machinists and production visual inspectors).
• Review and complete manufacturing generated device history record documentation.
• Read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Line Chief / Quality Control Group Lead.
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES (If Applicable)
• Work is conducted in a general office and manufacturing environment.
• May be exposed to hazards associated with manufacturing equipment and tools.
• Lift 50lbs without restrictions.
• Utilize manual dexterity to manipulate small objects.
• Utilize a high degree of attention to detail with focus on adherence to quality and safety standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 1+ years’ experience performing visual / mechanical inspection.
• 1+ years’ experience collecting and logging data using a computer-based system.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in Quality Control in an ISO-certified medical device or defense manufacturing environment is strongly desired.
• Understanding of the machining process and familiarity with machining equipment are strongly desired.
• Knowledge of the use of a wide variety of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and optical measuring equipment is strongly desired.
• Experience using and interpreting engineering drawings for machined parts is strongly desired.
• Excellent visual acuity and: ability to use a microscope to inspect small parts for long periods of time.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office productivity software (Excel, Word etc.).
