Quality Inspector Position Overview
The Quality Inspector inspects products for dimensional characteristics and compliance with specifications. This role involves meticulous attention to detail, adherence to quality control procedures, and effective communication with relevant stakeholders to address and resolve quality issues. Candidates will gather and scan inspection sheets and other operation paperwork. A strong understanding of Thunderbird cylinder quality standards.
Quality Inspector Essential Functions
- Ensuring Thunderbird Cylinders product quality.
- Perform internal testing and cosmetic checks. Perform 1st piece inspections, receiving inspections as required by customer and/or regulatory specifications.
- Complete all lab work and paperwork.
- Must be able to prep cylinders by removing defects using the hand sander and fix incorrect stampings with a hammer.
- Assisting in Internal Audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Verify products are packaged according to specifications.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned.
Quality Inspector Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector or similar role.
- Ability to distinguish between part numbers and sizes.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedures. and work instructions.
- Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to write legibly.
- Ability to effectively describe product quality information to appropriate personnel.
- Ability to use inspection, test, and measurement equipment.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Quality Inspector Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
- Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to read applicable instructions.
