MK Magnetics (www.mkmagnetics.com) specializes in the production of custom and standard tape wound soft magnetic cores for transformers and inductors. All the cores we sell are manufactured on site in Adelanto, California in a modern 75,000 sqft facility specially designed and built for manufacturing tape wound magnetic cores.

Working in accordance with the established policies and procedures, the Quality Inspection Supervisor is responsible for the inspection of product and cores to confirm technical compliance and customer expectations; planning and coordinating the workflow in the department; recording customer data test reports; supervising the Quality Inspectors; training in relevant policies, procedures, processes and programs; ensuring the customers receive a consistent Quality product, excellent customer service and compliance with the MK Magnetics Quality Management System.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and trains the Quality inspectors on test equipment and documentation used to test the quality of the cores being produced.
  • Reviews and follows production schedule to determine flow of work through the Quality department; informing Production Control of any deviation of schedule or delays.
  • Performs in-process, Final inspection and test of products & cores, to assist with Quality workflow.
  • Review and assist in ISO9000 procedures, work instructions and related test materials for the department.
  • Identifies and recommends Quality process improvements. Submit Red-Lined Engineering Change Notices to Production Control as needed.
  • Develops electrical and technical product test reports, first article reports, and other reports as needed.
  • Alerts Engineer when a quality deviation is discovered, if any.
  • Responsible for implementation and disposition of Discrepant Material Reports, coordinate with Engineer in assigning rework instructions.
  • Conducts investigations with the Engineer that identify root causes of product failure and provides appropriate recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Assists Engineer with Return Material Authorization (RMA) and Material Review Board (MRB) analysis and dispositions.
  • Oversees proper operation of measurement and test equipment, monitors test equipment and calibration as needed. Coordinates with third party calibration companies as needed.
  • Work cooperatively and jointly with other employees to provide quality and on-time parts to our customers.
  • Enforces Company policies, procedures, and safety rules within the Quality Department.
  • Ensures Quality employees are properly inspecting raw materials received from vendors.
  • Responsible for ensuring customer data files and associated logs are updated and maintained.
  • Orders supplies and materials for department.
  • Evaluates Quality employees’ job performance and recommends appropriate action.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in Electronics; Electronic Testing in a manufacturing environment or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Minimum two years of Quality department experience and supervising a small group of employees is required.
  • ISO9000 Quality Management Systems environment experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Product failure analysis and scrap management, Manufacturing principles and processes, Equipment calibration requirements, Principles and practices of effective employee supervision.
  • Knowledge of Inspection, testing and sampling procedures, Analog electronic test equipment and test processes, Basic electronic theory, minimum algebra, metric and standard measurement.
  • Capable of reading basic blueprints.
  • Experience in problem solving; able to identify root cause of symptomatic problems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • English/Spanish language is a plus.
  • Ability to work with low and high voltage test equipment.
