Job Description:
 

The Quality Expert will ensure the quality, food safety and safety awareness processes throughout the Nespresso USA organization. This role will be the quality assurance subject matter expert on end-to-end processes to ensure quality, food safety, regulatory and safety requirements are implemented for all locations and products considering risk assessments, risk analysis and regulatory and process compliance for new local products developments. This is a hybrid-based role that will work at Nespresso's HQ office in New York City, NY (Manhattan). 
Responsibilities: 
Certifications
    Leads Nespresso's company-wide ISO 9001 Certification related to Quality and Food-Safety, and support other external audits and inspection (health, safety and environment).
    Manages integration with other ISOs (45001 and 14001).
    Coordinates the implementation of company-wide quality assurance processes such as MOC, CAPA, Local developments, etc. 
    Ensures all departments adhere to Nespresso HQ Guidelines, assist departments to write quality related processes, procedures and training documents.
    Completes yearly audits across Nespresso's Boutiques, Warehouses, Food Supplier, Co-packers and POS, evaluate audit findings and ensure actions are implemented and closed.
QSHE Compliance 
    Serves as the subject matter expert for local developments and initiatives, considers end-to-end evaluation on required testings, ensures regulatory compliance, as well as processes development and risks analysis and mitigation. 
    Manages relationships with authorities on obtaining necessary approvals, closing gaps, and development of new processes to address risks or accommodate new business needs.
    Provides quality and food safety training to boutiques, warehouses, point of sales, offices and events.
    Leads end-to-end yearly Q-Safety, Health and Environmental Workshops to promote quality, safety and food safety awareness.
    Leads market yearly traceability exercise and participates in HQ yearly traceability.
    Ensures all developments comply with Nespresso HQ standards and local legislation.
    Ensures that all imported products comply with regulatory and FSMA rules (FSVP, FDA, prop 65). 
    Manages Prop 65 analysis on machines and accessories.
    Ensures safety programs to address high risk hazards and implementation are carried out in  compliance with health and safety regulations and enforce employee's health and safety at work.
    Performs risk assessments in new boutiques, new warehouses and with high risk new processes (e.g. automation, new lines installation, events, etc.).
    Owns and creates processes and guidelines to ensure key requirements are in place.
    Be the SPOC and subject matter expert to coach departments on improvement their BCP plan and carry out tests.
    Ensures that Management reviews of documents are timely prepared and reviewed with actions plans.
Complaints
    Leads Complaints Management monthly process involving all departments and challenge the action plans related and verify execution. 
    Supports each department to perform root cause analysis or "Go see, think do" or DMAIC when necessary.   
    Performs root cause analysis and ensure Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) are initiated, implemented and monitored for non-compliant situations.
    Leads quarterly IRT (Issue Round Table) involving key stakeholders including Nestle Legal, Regulatory, Food-Safety Experts, PR, COE, Marketing to discuss potential crisis topics and generate actions.
    Performs Request for Assistance analysis with the support from COE to avoid Complaints by implementing action plans. Support company-wide crisis management process related to products.
    Leads process improvement initiatives among other departments driving proper root cause analysis and effective actions.
Food Safety 
    Provides food safety technical expertise to Nespresso's Boutique stores, offices and events and leads the food defense program yearly review.
    Trains employees and newcomers on food safety, allergens and increase food safety awareness through initiatives. 
    Ensures quality assurance policies and procedures are adhered to per food and safety guidelines and applicable laws.                                                                                                                                                                  
    Performs Proper 65 analysis, water and ice from Nespresso's Boutique stores.  
    Performs "Go See, Think Do" for any food safety incidents.
Requirements: 
    Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Engineering, Biology, Science or in a related field; Master's degree preferred. 
    5+ years of relevant work experience in the field of Food Safety and Quality Assurance required. 
    Demonstrated fluency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) required. 
    Must have strong communication (oral and written), organizational, time management and stakeholder management skills. 
    Must have demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management Systems and current or prior Project Management experience. 
    Willing and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision. 
    Must be able to assess and write Quality related processes.
    ISO and auditing experience is highly desired. 
    Familiarity with ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Series and/or ISO 9001 is highly preferred. 
    Knowledge of local, state and federal safety and food safety/FDA regulations a plus.
    Willing and able to travel up to 20% based on the needs of the team and the business. 
 

The approximate pay range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
