Quality Engineer
Job Description
Collaboration with engineering and production to develop, organize, and maintain systems used to verify product conformance to accepted quality standards. Build quality into the product and process through the use of APQP tools. Perform assessments and audits on process & procedures to ensure compliance to engineering drawings, specifications, and internal requirements. Perform a process or QMS audit at Supplier location to determine areas of discrepancy in systems or processes. Develop documentation to support the Control Plan including check sheets, test procedures, and data record sheets. Lead/drive manufacturing teams to resolve RCCA activities and issues including validation of process & procedure.

Responsibilities
- Uses of various metrology equipment to support machining, blast, paint, heat treat and assembly
- Validation of first article inspections
- Documentation of quality metrics
- Read and fully understands technical drawings and control plans
- Conducts quality system audits
- Responsible for gauge inventory and calibration
- Selects, maintains, and calibrates gauges
- Drives RCCA and verification of effectiveness
- Leads supplier quality assurance problem prevention and resolution
- Leads product reliability and customer service data analytics
- Communicates effectively with peers, leaders, and support functions.
- Demonstrates adaptability and appropriate interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to ITAR regulations
- Must demonstrate good organizational and communication skills - both oral and written
- 7+ years relevant experience in manufacturing quality
- Optional engineering degree, quality certification, or equivalent experience
- Proficient computer skills, strong MS Office Suite, and knowledge
- Familiarity with types and uses of various metrology equipment
- Able to lift 50 lbs. on occasion
- Requires constant standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the workday.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including working in and around moving parts, chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
- Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the duration of work schedule
