Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Custom Service Plastics – Lake Geneva, Wisconsin
Terms: Permanent
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
· Development of inspection and work instructions, including experience with controlling documented information.
· Part inspection (including preparation of inspection reports), full layout inspection, in process, final, and receiving using all types of mechanical inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.).
· Excellent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
· Assist with the internal and supplier audit processes. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation of audit schedule and audit assignments, training auditors, conducting audits, and monitoring the performance of the audit process, as appropriate. Perform internal and/or supplier audits as required.
· Process capability studies and interpretation of statistical indices.
· Capacity to work independently from general supervision (must be self-motivated once given direction/guidance).
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to read and interpret assembly and component drawings and engineering specifications.
· Experience with operating measurement equipment (CMM/SCANNING ARM preferred).
· Good knowledge of injection molding processes.
· Excellent project management, organization, writing, communication, and presentation skills required.
· Ability to communicate in a wide variety of communication styles and to influence and build consensus across cross-functional groups.
· Ability to manage all requests for IMDS for the International Material Data System.
· Strong Automotive New Product Launch experience preferred – (blueprints, strong GD&T, SPC, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans).
· Ability to format, trend and present information using basic quality tools (i.e., scatter plots, histograms, Pareto diagrams, flow charts, SPC, FMEA).
· Ability to compile, analyze, graph, and compare data using standard statistical techniques (i.e., t-tests, ANOVA, linear regression analysis).
· Demonstrated expert knowledge of Windows-based software, including Word, Excel, Access, Project, MiniTab and Power Point.
· Provide guidance and leadership on investigations involving manufacturing nonconformances, product or component failures, customer complaints, or product returns by leading or participating in the investigation process, technical troubleshooting, FMEA, product safety, risk analysis, determining root cause and recommending CAPA.
· Experience with IATF 16949 Quality Systems (ISO 14001 also helpful) including Metrology and gage calibration systems, PPAP (IMDS, PFMEA, CP, etc.)
Education & Experience Requirements
· ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or Certified Six Sigma Green or Blackbelt.
· Experience with programming and operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Part Scanning Systems (CMM Style or Roaming Arm), layout inspection of molded components, and performance of gage R&R studies required.
· 3-5 years in an injection molding manufacturing environment is preferred.
· Proficiency in root cause analysis required.
· Experience supervising 6-10 QA inspectors preferred.
· Ability to manage all IMDS requests required.
· Experience with IQMS manufacturing ERP system is preferred.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
· The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
· The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
· The employee is required to talk, see, and hear.
· Travel and overtime are required when necessary.
