Position Description
We are seeking a qualified, software Quality Assurance Engineer with experience in web-based customer-facing software applications to be part of the Partner Strategy team that supports, builds, and maintains our educational services platforms and web applications. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the testing of software products at Education Analytics by working with a cross-functional team of experts using agile-scrum practices as well as
demonstrate strong leadership skills in understanding project goals, individual role operations, the delivery process, identify testing dependencies, highlight issues, and risks to product teams. This position will report to the Director of Product & Development Operations and will have significant freedom to structure, plan, and implement EA's Quality Assurance roadmap. Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform manual, exploratory and performance testing, leveraging an end-to-end system testing methodology
- Consult on QA strategy and best practices for testing regarding regression, release, etc. and work with teams to ensure their work aligns with best practices
- Create and maintain testing progress and quality reports
- Anticipate feature release problems and take corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve commitments
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills in understanding project goals, individual role operations, the delivery process, identify testing dependencies, highlight issues, and risks to project team
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of software Quality Assurance experience in web-based customer-facing software applications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience using industry standard software QA tools
- The ability to define and execute a comprehensive testing strategy and writing reusable manual test cases
- Knowledge of foundation, principles and techniques of software development and agile scrum processes
- Experience with A/B Testing methods and technology
- Experience in manual API testing
- Experience with automation testing and scripting a plus
- Comfort in setting up a CI/CD environment with test setup integration knowledge
- Practical experience using source code control system
- The abilities to define and implement a QA tool strategy
- Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud platforms (or similar) and SQL
- Excellent team communication and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science/Engineering, similar disciplines or has equivalent years of work experience
- Preparedness to develop scalable and reusable testing processes and execute them in an Agile/Scrum-based development environment
- Experience testing distributed or Cloud Architectures
- Experience with dimensional databases and data modeling
- Experience with test automation technologies
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary for the Quality Assurance Engineer position is $75,000-85,000, based on experience. EA also has a generous benefits package including:
- A 12% employee salary contribution from EA to your 401k retirement plan
- An additional 3% salary deferral match by EA to your 401k
- 26.5 days of paid vacation annually + sick paid time off that accumulates per pay period + 9 paid holidays of your choosing.
- 93% of health insurance premium paid for by EA
