General Summary:

Develop, direct and accomplish QA programs that require the application of advanced QA techniques and methods.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform Planning Work Instruction review prior to issuance to manufacturing, ensuring that QA operations are correctly placed and drawing QA requirements are adequately addressed.
  2. Support discrepancy report activity, along with calibration and tooling.
  3. Directs quality assurance personnel assigned as inspectors in specific areas of responsibility.
  4. Directs the solution of problems affecting the quality of completed aircraft Assure that the planned courses of action are compatible with contractual commitment, established schedules, cost estimates, available facilities/equipment and other Quality Assurance considerations.
  5. Develops Quality Assurance programs for new products/processes, outlining organization required, inspection techniques and methods, manpower requirements, and facility needs.
  6. Analyzes inspection methods, tools, equipment and facilities to determine basic requirements for control of quality at desired level
  7. Organizes, plans and directs the development/administration/improvements of Quality Assurance functions in support of reliability programs.
  8. Leads the activity of personnel assigned to this function in advanced phases of data analysis, correlation of failure reporting and processing methods and functional program study.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

  1. BS degree in Engineering or other related field of study preferred.
  2. 2 years minimum of aircraft related Quality Engineering experience.
  3. Experience working corrective actions for FAA requirements.
  4. Experience working FAA audits preferred.
  5. Will consider related experience in lieu of earned academic degree or aircraft familiarity.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  1. Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  2. Excellent computer Microsoft Suite application (Word, Exel, Access, Outlook).
  3. Strong analytical skills are required.
  4. Must be effective in working in an environment that requires the ability to: multi-task, adapt to frequently changing priorities, and to produce quality and timely deliverables within a setting where there are limited established procedures and protocol ambiguity may exist.
  5. Experience, knowledge, or interest in Aerospace, new aircraft development, certification and/or manufacturing is preferred.
  6. Experience in development and oversight of an FAA Part 21 approved Quality System preferred
  7. Ability to act independently with minimum level of supervision.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
  2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
  4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
  6. Effectively communicate in Business English language.
  7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
  8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.

This is a Contingent position with our company (1-year or longer)
