The Integrated Genetics division (part of LabCorp’s Specialty Testing Group) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Technologist in Santa Fe, NM. We are a fast-paced diagnostic testing facility performing chromosome analysis on various tissue types. This position will include various wet lab procedures, troubleshooting, Quality Control, and microscopic analysis.
The schedule for this position will be Monday- to Friday. Hours can vary depending on business need. Ability to work overtime and weekends is required.
Responsibilities:
- Production and aliquoting of cytogenetic media and reagents
- Validation of cytogenetic media and reagents/ Statistical analysis
- Harvest adhesion and suspension cultures that result in slide preparations
- Chromosome analysis using microscopy and computer imaging system
- Facilitate or perform calibration of pipettes, thermometers, and other instruments
- Perform and document preventative maintenance and Quality Control procedures
- Wash, sterilize, and process laboratory dishware
- Perform general lab support duties
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Requirements:
- B.A./B.S. in Biology, Medical Technology, Chemistry, or related life science field
- Previous clinical or research lab experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and overtime
- Attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
- Ability to multi-task if necessary
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Ability to work in a team and as an individual
