Quality Control Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret specifications, plans and resource documents to determine requirements and planning procedures as outlined in the RFP
• Develop and implement Quality Control plan
• Maintain current records providing factual evidence that required Quality Control activities and tests have been performed
• Complete all reports and records in an accurate and timely manner
• Document and update appropriate logs
• Conduct, attend and participate in project meetings
• Coordinate Three Phase of Control plan Preparatory, Initial and Final Phases
• Maintain Quality Control by frequent and regular inspection of work and work-in-progress
• Maintain an orderly and clean presence on the jobsite
• Complete job close-out procedures
• Able to work in Quality Control System (QCS)/ USACE Resident Management System (RMS 3.0)

Skill requirements:

• Four year degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction or Building Science preferred
• Five (5) years of combined experience as a Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager or Project Engineer on a similar size and type of construction contract
• Quality certification
• Design/Build experience is a plus
• Rock Scaling experience is a plus
• Experience on USACE or Federal projects preferred.
• Horizontal projects over 5M preferred
• Working knowledge of field construction including systems, practices, general engineering principals and construction techniques, materials, methods and sequencing
• Familiarity with requirements of USACE EM 385-1-1
• Detailed experience with Quality Control for civil and earthwork
• Experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance
