Job Description
- It is the duty and responsibility of ALL Seattle Gourmet Foods staff to report any food safety issues IMMEDIATELY to their supervisor.
- Releases finished product that complies with specifications.
- Monitors production of food, including ingredient, lot code, and process verifications.
- Measures product parameters such as weight, packaging, organoleptic, and identity preservation to ensure specifications are being met.
- Collects samples for outside laboratory analysis.
- Performs monthly glass and brittle plastic audits of 64th and 72nd facility.
- Performs monthly Fire Extinguisher/Exit audit.
- Performs weekly/monthly thermometer checks.
- Monitors prerequisite programs to ensure regulatory requirements and program specifications are being met.
- Validates metal detection procedures.
- Enforces good manufacturing practices.
- Inventories laboratory and office supplies monthly and requisitions Quality Control Manager for materials, as necessary.
- Ensures that non-conforming product is placed on hold and ensures non-conforming product disposition is carried out, as instructed by Quality Control Manager.
- Provides back-up to QC Techs, Supervisor, or Manager, as needed.
- Responsible for Mint yield calculations and releases.
- Allergen and Sanitation swabbing as needed.
- Conducts Internal Auditing as directed by Manager/schedule.
- Check in ingredients and packaging per approved supplier and receiving procedures.
- Packet/file daily production paperwork.
- Special projects as assigned by the Quality Manager and Supervisor.
- Previous experience in Quality Control and/ or equivalent education
- Ability to read and speak English fluently and communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to communicate issues with production employees and management.
- Ability to perform simple math through basic algebra.
- Ability to perform measurements and conversions using weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to determine the best course of action needed to resolve production issues in a timely, efficient manner.
- Ability to deal with a multitude of situations that may have complex variables.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The work schedule is Mon-Fri (7:00-3:30) 8 hour shifts.
- Starting pay $22-27 /hour DOE.
