Background:

The Madison facility produces magnesium alloy slabs from its casting operation which are then processed into plates, coils, and sheets on its rolling mills. Products are finished at the Madison and Manchester facilities for specialty markets including aerospace, defense, printing and battery sheet. Position Purpose:
The Quality Control Technician will liaise with the Sales Executives and the Technical department to provide LGA customers with knowledge and process expertise, maximizing the client’s experience with our products. The successful candidate will undergo extensive training for the initial 6-9 months in order to enhance their knowledge in the field of Photo Engraving.
Main Responsibilities:
The main activities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide assistance to the Quality department
- Assist with internal quality assessment
- Do routine Quality Control testing of products
- Chemical analysis via spectrometry
- Acid etching of metal plates for quality assessment
- Fill in QC forms daily
- Technical know-how of the application of Photo Engraving products will be provided
- Technical support for outside sales once understanding of processes and products is mastered
- The successful candidate will travel to customers from time to time to provide assistance with products
Position Requirements:
Potential candidates must have these abilities and traits:
- A background in science and a strong willingness to learn
- Knowledge of chemistry a plus
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to set up and run complex equipment
- Outstanding communication skills
- Excellent writing ability
- Experience with all Microsoft products
- Good team player
- Ability to travel 50%
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
- Exposure to industrial metal processing, photo chemical machining or the packaging industry would be beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks successfully and remain organized, meeting expressed deadlines
