SalarySummary: The incumbent will be a member of a team to focus on overall pallet quality, including the development, management, and implementation of standards for Warehouse Depots, 3PLs, and iDepots to follow to enrich our customers’ experience and advocacy of iGPS through intentionality and responsiveness to their needs. Further, this role will assemble empirical data showing pallet modifications that are needed plus direct Customer/Retail feedback on the current pallet models for consideration in the next pallet generation.
The ideal candidate will do extensive travel to conduct quality-related visits as required based on strategic need. When appropriate and reasonable, this role will conduct planned visits to Manufacturers, 3PLs, iDepots and Depots.
This role requires the inquisitive mindset of an inspector/engineer, with the ability to analyze the forensics of pallets in the field and the influences they are exposed to.
This role will focus on Quality - Training, Onboarding, and surveys. With the knowledge gained from this area of focus, the team will provide positive feedback as well as any recommendations of corrective actions to the appropriate entity.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Travel to Customer/Retailer locations to perform quality inspections and collect relevant data.
- Provide pallet modifications that are needed based on inspections.
- Collect customer feedback and suggestions for future pallet modifications.
- Ability to analyze pallet forensics in order to make recommendations for improvements in manufacturing operating parameters.
- Support the development of improved quality reporting measures.
- Investigate and diagnose quality complaints, track down components, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop in-depth understanding of company quality standards.
- Develop a solid understanding of customer / retail uses and needs of pallet quality.
- Ability to provide adequate training when needed.
Job Qualifications
- 2+ years of work experience in a Quality role
- Experience with quality techniques such as Six Sigma
- 2+ years in the Transportation/Supply Chain Industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills within a customer environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong teaching skills for internal and customer personnel
- Possess basic computer and Microsoft suite skills.
- Solid documentation and reporting skills
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with other iGPS teams and customer personnel
- Comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.
- Possess the ability to travel extensively within the U.S./Canada, in some cases on short notice.
- Fluent in speaking/writing in English
- Spanish language skills preferred.
Desired Education
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in an engineering/technology discipline
