We are seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead and manage the ready mix concrete Quality Control group in Eastern Indiana and Southwest Ohio region. Reporting to the VP/GM, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining a Quality Control program while leading the Quality Control group in monitoring quality and assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is to coordinate the activities of Quality Control Area Coordinators, Qualified Technicians, and laboratory personnel
- Monitor and maintain mix designs for the designated area while maintaining the overall company mix design structure
- Manage the process and selection of new products utilizing the new product protocol
- Coordinate and implement corporate R&D directives
- Ensure project specifications are reviewed, mix submittals are prepared, and properly disseminated in a timely manner
- Manage customer complaints/claims and take appropriate actions for resolution
- Conduct and assist as needed with employee and customer training programs
- Support the continuing education of plant personnel as it relates to customer satisfaction and Quality Control
- Optimize mix costs for the applications
- Support the corporate initiative for continuous quality improvement
- Actively participate in and support the committees as related to concrete technology and construction
- Continue education in industry related training courses
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
- Other duties or special projects as assigned by management
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in science or related field and/or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of five years Quality Control experience desired
- Obtain ACI Level 2 and NRMCA Concrete Technologist certifications
- Strong and effective communicator, strong analytical skills; ability to manage, implement and adapt to change
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate others
- Ability to provide direct and actionable feedback
- Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communications
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
- Must be willing to reside within the region of responsibility
- Proficiency with computers, including Google G Suite and MS Office
